Mahatma Gandhi might have said it best, and is this not a big lesson we are learning in these times?
“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi
The fact that we may only ever have today has certainly come into poignant focus since 2020. Now more than ever, we are all acutely aware of our mortality, old and young alike. The fear of viruses, illness, and death has become a driving force in society.
But, virus or no viruses, you and I may only have today That is the nature of our mortal existence. Why do we have so much fear of death? It is a mystery, and we don't like the unknown or surprises. Human beings seem to crave the safe and predictable life. Or, so we think... Is that not a rather dull and limited way of living for a soul that came to learn?
Do you require a guarantee that your soul and learning and wisdom are eternal, that you never die, in order to assuage your fears? Would you then face any obstacle, including this current societal shift, with a clearer mind and calm confidence?
The current global turmoil holds many lessons for us, both as individuals and as a collective humanity. These intense lessons are growing us exponentially.
A metaphysical puzzle:
What if there is a parallel reality where COVID-19 never existed? In a quantum universe of infinite possibilities, where all time and experience exist at once, it is highly probable.
So, if that alternate experience does exist in all of time, my next question is, why has humanity as a collective chosen to focus on this reality at this time?
Perhaps human beings over many centuries have been conditioned by society to expect struggle and misery before ease and joy? This is a postulation worthy of consideration. If that is indeed the case, this is an opportunity for our collective consciousness to choose a different reality.
Our minds are powerful and that which we focus on expands. Humanity could choose the idea of wellness rather than illness. It’s a metaphysical puzzle worth pondering.

A Different Reality
I don’t know
why we can’t
have a happier
world than this.
I guess we
are addicted
to our unhappiness,
otherwise we’d
just say no to
the psychopaths,
the insanity
of it all,
snap our fingers
and wake from
this twisted
dream we insist
upon calling
reality,
and begin
creating something
different.
What are
we waiting for?
Someone
to give us
permission,
someone to
tell us how
to do it,
someone
who’ll do
it for us.
Those some
ones aren’t
coming.
I want a
different reality.
I believe
that must
be possible,
and I want to
help build it.
How about you?
