Well, here I am again… Thank you for being patient and waiting for me. In the letter I sent out to readers (after the last March 8th post in my archives), I stated that I was not sure I could keep this up. It was my intention to - and I have - put more energy into my author platform this past while. (As it turns out, more writing is the antidote for a tired soul, not less. :)
Writing for humanity can be a daunting task. Humanity isn’t exactly one of those ultra-popular subjects, as people tend to be self-absorbed in general. Do we care deeply about humanity, or do we just pay it casual lip service? Perhaps it’s a bit of both, depending on the day that question is asked. After all, day-to-day life can be very busy to the point of consuming.
Regarding today’s post title, I don’t delude myself that my silence was deafening to my readers. After all, when a space opens up, there is always something else to fill it. No one is irreplaceable. However, my silence became damaging to myself. I felt guilty about abandoning this group who put faith in me and signed up.
As for today’s haiku meme “Why?” Yes, the silence. The silence that is increasingly being required in society. The words that we already held back out of hesitancy, laziness, ignorance, lack of self-confidence, fear of being ridiculed, are now becoming even harder to say for fear of punishment.
But if we do not say them, we are relinquishing our future to those who want to dominate it.
I look forward to writing more for you soon… Stay tuned.
Nonconformist is part of a collection I just put together to celebrate my 4th anniversary of blogging. Hart Haiku Vol. 1 is a collection of the best 100 from just over 150 posts I did between 2019 and 2020. If you’d like to download a free copy of the collection, please click here.
There is some social commentary in there, but mostly it’s about about nature, our human connection to it, the potential of humanity, and our own self-fulfillment as souls having a human experience. Hope you like it!

Creator, beware!
When our Creator
gave us power to create,
what was the intent?
We are playing a
random game of chaos,
with no plan at all.
The mad scientists
concoct what they call progress –
Whose evolution?
Our human future
threatened by robotics, with
what repercussions?
Creativity
begs responsibility
to humanity –
How do we manage
an invention that could mean
our own extinction?
Creator, beware!, a multiverse haiku, was first published on my author site, May 17, 2023.
